5. Favourites

As you can probably tell, these past few weeks Ive been wearing my platform heels from asos religiously! They're almost too comfortable and go with every outfit as well as elongating my legs.

Lately, ive been loving all things holographic so ive been wearing this iridescent clutch i got from ebay non stop, id wanted one for ages and when i finally found this one i had to get it!

For some unknown reason this season ive been drawn to glitter which is quite uncharacteristic of me but im just going with it i guess. Ive been wearing these polishes by maybelline and i love them as their coverage is awesome and they sparkle beyond belief!

'Colour show' nail polish by maybelline

Ps excuse the crappy quality of these photos, as usual they were taken on my phone despite having bought the world's most expensive slr.. Logic.
Okay bye for now xx

Happy December / Miley Cyrus T-shirt DIY

Happy December everyone! Hope you're all well, it's been over a month since my last post.. I think i underestimated the amount of time and effort that goes into running a blog while trying to keep up with studies and working. Anyway, I'm just glad I'm posting again as I love to share little ideas like theses with you all!

So, back to the post; a while back I mentioned doing a Miley Cyrus T-shirt diy tutorial as I really wanted a t-shirt like the one she wore to Jimmy Kimmel  over the summer, but I couldn't find one anywhere that was exactly like it (not even Etsy, and that's saying something). So I decided to make it myself and share it with you all on here so you can give it a try yourself (it's really not that difficult)! I was actually surprised how cheap it was to make considering there are copies of other t-shirts she's worn for over 30 pounds.

Things you will need:
Old red t-shirt (or from Asos here - get an M for a loose fit)
White fabric paint (here)
Stencil (you can download the one I made here or make your own)
Thick card / plastic bag
Paintbrush
Tape
Pair of scissors
Iron
Scalpel (optional)

1. Print out stencil, cut it in half so that the letters align to spell out 'CHANNING'. Using a scalpel or scissors cut the letters out to look like this:

2. Align the stencil so that it is in a straight line and tape it to the t-shirt:

3. Put a piece of cardboard (or something that won't soak up the paint) in between the front and back of the t-shirt to protect the back being stained with paint:

4. Using a pencil, draw the letters using the stencil. (you'll need this as a guide for painting when you remove the stencil) :

5. Using a small paintbrush, apply the first coat of paint:

6. Let the paint dry thoroughly. (I left mine to dry overnight) Then remove the stencil:

7. Place a piece of cotton fabric on top of the writing and iron using a medium setting without steam.

8. After you have ironed the fabric, let it cool and apply the second coat of paint. This is where the pencil lined you made earlier will come in handy as you will be painting freehand. You will need to apply enough paint to make a completely opaque white colour while tidying up the edged of the text:

9. Let this dry and iron again in the same way. The finished text should look like this:

10. Lastly, decide how short you want the t-shirt to be and draw a straight line using a pencil across the front (I would suggest to try it on first as it might look shorter when it is on). Cut along the line you drew with a pair of sharp scissors... And look at that, you're done!

Now you have a t-shirt that looks exactly like Miley's and voices your love of Channing Tatum.. what's not to love, right?
(If you have any problems with downloading the PDF, comment below this post with your email and I'll email you the file) :)

Style File : Miley Cyrus

Hello everyone! Sorry for my lack of posting lately, I haven't been feeling my best but I'm happy to say I'm back on track and have some great posts lined up for you in the next few days!

Okay, so I'm currently obsessed with Miley Cyrus (it seems as if everyone is at the moment). However, I am less interested in the never-ending controversy surrounding her and more interested in the great looks she's been spotted in lately. The clothes she wears (when she is dressed that is) really are amazing and her style is insane, she is turning into a serious style icon. I am in love with her street style in particular, everything from her denim cut offs to her cool crop tops and those signature Doc Martens... and don't even get me started on her punky peroxide cut! If I could pull of a blonde crop like her I would happily have my hair cut à la Miley any day!

Anyway, here is a round up of some of my favourite Miley looks.
PS stay tuned for a DIY of her 'Channing' red crop tshirt she wore to Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year (watch the hilarious video here)

So that's it.. a round up of Miley's incredible style so far. Be sure to read her most recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine here (she even gets the name of the mag tattooed on her feet!)

When in London

Wow. I don't know what other way to describe this city, really. After having stayed there for almost 2 weeks I am completely certain that I want to study there and possibly spend the rest of my life there. There's just so much to write about that I don't know where to begin. To cover some basics: I stayed with my cousin who studies there, I was there for a total of 11 days and the main motive of my trip was to do a portfolio course at London Art Portfolio which is situated just off Tower Bridge. There, I met some truly amazing and inspiring people and the time in between classes was spent going round some of the bigger art galleries (such as Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Royal Academy of Arts, National Gallery, Somerset House etc), eating beautiful food and shopping of course! With London being such a huge city with a vast mixture of ethnicities, culture and style, I really got a chance to experiment with clothes as I wasn't as worried getting the strange stares that I would normally get if I was back home. Here is a round up of some of my OOTDs :

Gallery Hunt:

tshirt: Mango, skort: www.sheinside.com (or Zara), satchel: H&M, plimsoles: River Island

Art Class:

Bart Simpson crop top: www.sheinside.com , studded shorts: Pull and Bear,
 backpack: Topshop, creepers: Ebay

Airport Ready:
short sleeve jumper: H&M, floral leggings: Zara Kids, backpack: Topshop, shoes: Vans

There is so much to do in London throughout the year, but I think if anyone was to ever visit, summer is the best time as the weather is perfect for seeing some of the main attractions. Since I had already seen some of the biggies (such as the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and Madame Tussauds) this time I decided to pay Greenwich and the Tower of London a visit.

OOTD 'Monochrome' : shirt, trousers, jacket, satchel: all H&M , creepers: Ebay , sunglasses: Michael Kors

A few days were obviously dedicated to shopping, something London is probably best known for. Brick Lane was absolutely insane and I would definitely recommend it for vintage and thrift lovers and even those who love a good bargain (such as myself) here are a few of my favourite Brick Lane buys:

(I am a total sucker for nick nacks so I was practically in heaven when i saw the amount of jewellery stands) all of the above were bought at the markets apart form the beetle earrings which are Zara and the flower earrings which are Pilgrim.

This cute little vintage dress was only £7.50!!

If you ever decide to pay Brick Lane a visit, the best day to go is Sunday as it is the only day when all of the markets are open, although you can go during the week if you want to go round the vintage shops (which are slightly more expensive than the markets)

The dress and jewellery were all bought at the Sunday UpMarket in the Old Truman Brewery, including these amazing treats at one of the stands (left: strawberry cheesecake whoopie pie, right: vanilla raspberry cupcake) and I can honestly say that they were the most delicious cakes I have ever tasted.. like ever.. better than the Hummingbird Bakery I swear!

Recommended vintage shops: Blitz, Beyond Retro, Rokit Vintage, East End Thrift Store

ART JAM @ Rich Mix Centre (Shoreditch)

One night we went to this thing called an 'art jam' where basically some artists were gathered to do a live painting session where each artist got 45 minutes to do an improvised painting and after the time was up the artists had to switch canvases and continue painting someone else's piece. This went on for a few rounds and the final outcomes were so cool! These were a few of my favourites.

There were a lot of talanted musicians at the art jam but this girl really stood out, her name was Vanessa Casperscz and she was a singer/beat-boxer/ukulele player.. talk about talent! So make sure you check her out!

Wow this has turned into a long post but you have reached the end of it! Might do a part 2 of London sometime depending on my mood, as there is still a lot of cool stuff to share!
